Creatures of Sonaria Map: Regions & Portals
The Sonaria map is a floating landmass split into five main sections — Volcano Island, Jungle, Forgotten Shores, Desert and Tundra — linked by colored portals.
Direct answer
The Main World (Sonaria) is a flat landmass floating in a vast expanse of water. It is split by water into five main sections: Volcano Island in the northeast; the Jungle and Pride Rocks in the northwest; Forgotten Shores and Flower Cove in the east; and the largest southwestern region containing the Desert, Central Rockfaces, Mesa, Mountains, Redwoods, Swamp Hollow and Tundra. Two portal pairs link distant points. These details come from the community wiki — the official game page only says “hunt in a vast world”.
What the Sonaria map is
The wiki describes the Main World as a flat disk or mound of land and dirt floating in a vast expanse of water. The player creature roams this landmass, and water separates the major regions.
The official Roblox page does not describe the map: its only phrase for the world is “hunt in a vast world”. Everything about region names, layout and portals comes from the community wiki, so treat the map description as a wiki snapshot that can change with updates.
The five main sections
The mainland is divided by water into five main sections, per the wiki snapshot of August 2026:
- Volcano Island — northeast
- Jungle and Pride Rocks — northwest
- Forgotten Shores and Flower Cove — east
- Desert, Central Rockfaces, Mesa, Mountains, Redwoods, Swamp Hollow, Tundra — southwest; the largest section
Portals and travel
Portals allow point-to-point travel; each portal links to its same-color partner. The wiki currently lists two pairs: Mysterious/Unknown (yellow) and Unknown/Unknown (blue).
The yellow portals were intentionally modified so that only the aquatic mobility type and the skyquatic submobility type can use them directly — a travel restriction introduced to balance mobility types (per the same wiki page, as of the August 2026 snapshot).
Minimap and coordinates
The game has a minimap, and since the October 2024 update the map also features a coordinate system; hovering over each icon displays what it is in text. The exact hotkey for the minimap was not confirmed in the research snapshot.
Coordinates are therefore the reliable way to share locations: they survived the minimap redesign and appear on third-party map tools that reference the in-game map.
Snapshot limits
The map changed with the 2022 redesign and with the Recode; a 2026 snapshot may not describe the current map exactly. The official game page publishes no region map, so the community wiki remains the only reference.
There is also a separate meaning of “map”: in the community, M.A.P. stands for Multi Animator Project fan animations, which is a different search intent entirely.

How many regions are there?
The wiki splits the mainland into five main sections — Volcano Island, Jungle/Pride Rocks, Forgotten Shores/Flower Cove and the large southwestern Desert–Tundra cluster.
What do the portals do?
Portals teleport you to a same-color partner portal. Current snapshot: two pairs, yellow (Mysterious/Unknown) and blue (Unknown/Unknown).
